Missions and Outreach

Locally focused and globally engaged

with an undeniable impact for christ

At Mount Pleasant, we consider serving others as being one of the most essential parts of our Christian faith. This is why we are committed to serving our neighbors across the street and those around the world. We accomplish this through local partnerships, global mission partners, short term missions trips, our Foster Care and Adoption Ministry and the Love Your Neighbor initiative. Learn how you can answer the call to serve below.

love your neighbor

One way we live out our Core Four strategy of serving others is through the Love Your Neighbor initiative. The very heartbeat of this initiative is to show our passion for people. We offer tons of opportunities throughout the year for you to show love to our IMPACT Campus neighbors through block and holiday parties, food packing, back to school events and holiday drives. Check out our upcoming opportunities below.

upcoming opportunities

  • November 13-18 - Thanksgiving Celebration
  • December 15/16 - Giving Tree Christmas Outreach
We'd love to invite you and your family to be a part of GIVING TREE this Christmas! Beginning the weekend of November 12\13, tags will be available for you to grab, shop and return by December 10. We've made it simple for you to help make an IMPACT on one of our IMPACT Ministry children by purchasing a single toy and a single gift card. Details are on the tags.

We would also love to invite you to be a part of the Christmas Party Team! You can serve on one of the weekends leading up to the event, as well as at the party on December 10.

foster care and adoption ministry

The Foster Care and Adoption Ministry exists to fulfill the call on the church in Psalm 82:3, which says “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

This Ministry is committed to equipping, enlisting, and empowering the people of Mount Pleasant Christian Church to defend vulnerable children domestically and internationally through foster care support, adoption support and global orphan care opportunities.

are you a foster family?

We would love to know if you are a current foster family. We'd also love to see how we can help meet any needs you have as you serve your foster children.

care portal

Care Portal is a tool created by Hands of Hope for Johnson and Marion County DCS workers to submit real-time needs for families serving vulnerable children in our communities. We're looking to equip and train others to help be a part of this response team. If you're interested in learning more, please send Heidi or Whitney an email.

Short Term Missions

Serve the Kingdom on an upcoming mission trip

We are passionate about the call to go out into the world and make disciples of all nations. We have many opportunities globally to make a difference in the world and to share the love and the message of Jesus Christ.

Local and Global Partners

At Mount Pleasant, the ministry of the local church is important to us. But we recognize that we are not alone in our commitment to sharing the gospel and ministering to those in need. That's why we have local and global partners that we support each year because of your continued generosity. Click below to find out more about these partnerships.
