Wellness Class Descriptions

Note that classes and times are subject to change without notice. Some classes are not on the schedule each week so be sure and check the current schedule which is revised weekly. Class schedules are on the CLC Facebook page or at the CLC front desk, as well as the website and MPCC Greenwood App.

Cardio/Strength
With the focus on fat-burning strength and cardio, this intermediate/advanced workout takes you through a variety of cardio and strength training exercises to maximize your calorie burn. All equipment is supplied. 

Christian Yoga
This 50-minute class focuses on stretching and strengthening the body through traditional yoga poses paired with Christian devotions. Warm-up poses focus on breathing and preparing the body for work. Work postures are designed to use dynamic tension to build strength and endurance. Flexibility poses elongate and stretches the muscles. Balance work is also emphasized. 

Indoor Cycling
Enjoy the ride! And sing along, too! These 60-minute endurance rides (stationary bikes) will have you singing in your seat to popular songs like Eye of the Tiger. Not only that but on this aerobic journey, you can burn as many as 500 calories per ride. Get fit and get motivated while you burn fat and calories and experience everything this class has to offer.

Personal Training
Work with a personal trainer to set goals and achieve desired results under a professional’s care. 

Pickle Ball
This fun class is a cross between racketball and tennis. A smaller court, plastic ball and short racket that is a cross between a ping pong paddle and a tennis racket. You will get lots of cardio along with agility exercises. Time will go by quickly as you laugh and have fun, all while getting a great workout. 

Senior-Toning
This low-impact total body stretching and toning class is geared for the older active adult or those needing lower impact exercises. This class consists of warm-up, stretch, balance and toning exercises for all major muscle groups. All equipment is supplied.

Step Aerobics and Toning
This class combines cardiovascular workouts with toning exercises. Step routines and toning exercises to build your cardiovascular endurance and muscle.

Kettlebell/All levels
This course is directly designed to assume knowledge of basic kettlebell movements.

Strength/Endurance and Stations
Learn how to move better and get stronger with just your own body. This class encourages strength, and improved body movement by teaching participants how to control their own body weight through a variety of calisthenics and resistance training-based games. This is a challenging and fun class that offers progressions for all fitness levels.

Cardio on the Floor
A fun, basic step class, without the step. Provides minimal impact, while increasing your heart rate for a cardiovascular workout with stretching and toning. You will get the total package in this class.

Back to Basics
Class is suitable for beginner, intermediate or advanced levels. We will have one class each morning session but will offer modifications for the beginner and intermediate participants. We will focus on total body cardio and strength exercises using functional movements like lunging, squatting, pushing and pulling our way to better health, mind, body and spirit. We will have a new focus on accountability with attendance, relationship, building, and a challenge to grow your nutritional knowledge and become more physically and spiritually fit.

Tabata
Tabata Bootcamp is a 45-minute class from start to finish using High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to spike the heart rate and fatigue the body by using multi-muscle group movements with a constant core focus. This class will be instructor-led and the popular 20/10/8 timing will be used. You will be pushed out of your comfort zone but only for 20 seconds at a time recovering just enough to give all you have in the next 20 seconds. This class is suitable for anyone wanting to jumpstart their fitness and advance to the next level. You may do it as a beginner with modifications offered but if you have joint injuries, this class may not be for you.

Holiday Blast
Holiday Blast Boot Camp with a combined focus on strength and interval training. We will mix up total body heavy weight training with total body interval training for overall strength and cardio fitness blast leading you into your best YOU for the holidays. 

  • This class will be a powerful 8-week program that will meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 5am. 
  • Sign up and get your day started off right with encouragement and accountability mind body and Spirit.
  • Early registration before September 27 is $65. After September 27 is $75.

The Climb
The Community Life Center has teamed up with the Indiana Parkinson Foundation (IPF) to house IPF’s active engagement called THE CLIMB. This program helps the Parkinson’s community use different forms of exercise and physical therapy to improve the daily lives of people with Parkinson’s. Along the way, The CLIMB enhances and supports discipleship, stewardship and Christian values, with God as the essential component of their core vision.

Total Body Strength and Conditioning
Work all muscle groups with a variety of strengthening and conditioning exercises. This class is designed to change each week to target all major muscle groups in a variety of ways. Designed to promote strength, cardiovascular endurance, power, coordination, agility and balance.

Restore Your Core
This is a movement method that strengthens the whole body while addressing core and pelvic floor dysfunction. Using elements of yoga, Pilates, biomechanics and more, you will build a reflexive, responsive core that supports you in the activities you do in daily life.

Transitions Lifestyle System
A simple yet intentional approach to wellness and weight management, Transitions Lifestyle System goes into greater detail than most programs. This 10-week class features a focused approach to nutrition taught by Michele Fleming; RD, CD, a registered dietitian and weight loss management coach with over 30 years of experience.

  • Live class overview meeting September 7 at 7pm at the CLC.
  • Class starts September 14 at 7pm on Tuesdays through November 16.
  • The cost is $200 for new participants and $100 for previous participants.
